Who are we?

Welcome! We are a small family breeder of Labrador Retrievers in Northern Maine. Our program is managed by our entire family, including our children! We firmly believe that puppies and dogs are heart healers and that our communities can be largely benefited by their service work. All of our dogs and puppies are raised in home with both big and little hands involved. We've worked hard to build our program to produce healthy & empowered puppies who are confident to take on the big world with their new families. Our puppies are raised on the Empowered Breeder protocol, which emphasizes on proper socialization during the first few weeks of life.

What makes us different?

First and foremost, we execute our breeding program with our HEART and our puppies always come first. Here at Northern Woods Labs, we go above and beyond to make the most of the eight weeks they spend with us. We begin Early Neurological Stimulations and gentle handling protocols as soon as three days old. These practices are known to stimulate the neurological system which promotes growth and development, strengthens the immune & cardiovascular system and increases stress tolerance. Then we transition puppies into our Exposure Curriculum which continues to build on our foundation of stress tolerance, socialization and desensitization to unpredictable sights and sounds. Our program places a large focus on shaping confident and empowered puppies that are ready to take on the world when they head to their new families.
